Frequently Asked Questions

What is functional and longevity medicine, and how is it different from my regular doctor?

Functional and longevity medicine looks for the root cause behind symptoms instead of just treating them individually. Rather than a 15-minute visit focused on one complaint, we look at your hormones, metabolism, nutrition, and lifestyle together to build a personalized plan aimed at how you feel and function long-term, not just "normal" lab numbers.

What kinds of concerns do you help with?

Common reasons patients come to us include fatigue, brain fog, weight changes, hormone imbalances (perimenopause/menopause), low energy, poor sleep, and a general sense that "something's off" even when standard labs look fine. We also work with patients who feel well but want to optimize their health and slow the effects of aging proactively.

Do you accept insurance?

Arcadia operates as a concierge practice, which means we don't bill insurance directly. This lets us spend far more time with you than a typical insurance-based visit allows, and build a plan that isn't limited by what insurance will cover. We can provide documentation for HSA/FSA reimbursement where applicable.

How much do your programs cost?

We offer a range of program levels depending on your goals and how much support you want, starting around $99–149/month for foundational care and going up to more comprehensive concierge and precision longevity programs for patients who want the deepest level of testing and support. We'll walk you through exact pricing and help you pick the right fit during your discovery consultation.

Do I need to be sick to come see you?

Not at all. Many of our patients feel "fine" by standard medical standards but want to feel and perform at their best, catch issues early, and build a proactive plan for long-term health. Others come to us because they've been told their labs are "normal" but they still don't feel right — we dig deeper in both cases.

What's the difference between your program levels?

Our programs range from foundational care (basic labs and guidance) up through hormone-focused programs, full metabolic optimization, and concierge-level programs with more frequent visits, deeper testing, and hands-on support. We'll recommend the right starting point based on your goals, budget, and how much support you want — nothing is one-size-fits-all.

Do you see patients outside of Wilmington?

Yes. In addition to seeing patients in-office in Wilmington, Saint James, and Southport, we offer telemedicine visits for patients located anywhere in North Carolina.

What happens at my first visit?

Your first step is a discovery consultation, where we talk through your health history, current concerns, and goals, and outline how we can help. From there, if it's a good fit, we'll set up your intake, order any needed labs, and build your personalized care plan together.

How is hormone therapy monitored?

Hormone therapy is closely monitored through regular lab work and follow-up visits, so your plan is adjusted over time based on how you're actually responding — not a "set it and forget it" prescription.
