My Longevity Non-Negotiables for Women Over 40

1 min read

I’m Beth Panoff, FNP-C, a nurse practitioner specializing in longevity medicine. If I had to simplify the conversation for women over 40, I would start with a few non-negotiables that affect nearly every part of aging well.

Protect muscle

Muscle supports metabolism, glucose control, bone health, balance, and independence. Strength training and adequate protein are not vanity goals. They are longevity tools.

Know your metabolic numbers

A1c alone is not always enough. I care about insulin resistance patterns, triglycerides, HDL, ApoB when appropriate, body composition, waist changes, and how the person feels and functions.

Do not ignore hormones, sleep, and recovery

Midlife is not just a mindset problem. Hormone shifts, sleep disruption, stress physiology, and recovery changes can affect mood, weight, cognition, libido, muscle, and cardiovascular risk.

Support the gut and mitochondria

Gut health, nutrient status, mitochondrial function, and inflammation influence energy, immune resilience, brain function, and how well the body repairs.

Next step

Longevity is not one protocol. It is a strategy. Start with a Comprehensive Consultation if you want to understand your own next best step: https://www.arcadia-institute.com.
